Northern Lights
The Northern Lights, also known as Aurora Borealis, are a natural phenomenon characterized by dancing, colorful lights visible in the Earth's polar regions. In Iceland, viewing the Northern Lights is a popular and awe-inspiring experience, drawing visitors from around the globe to witness this celestial display.
During clear, dark nights from late August to mid-April, the Northern Lights can often be seen in Iceland's northern and more remote regions, away from city lights. They occur when charged particles from the sun collide with gases in Earth's atmosphere, producing stunning displays of green, pink, purple, and sometimes even red hues across the night sky.
